We have chosen the Grand Hotel Capodimonte for our wedding reception and honeymoon. This hotel is a 5 minute walk out of town and easy for people to stroll home from in the evening if you are staying in central Sorrento.

The above hotels are all bookable through Thomas Cook or Citalia.

The tour operators seem to hold a lot of allocation of rooms in peak season so if the hotel website says they are full, check with the tour operators.

The tour operators also seem to have better rates. Rather than recommend hotels we haven’t stayed in, here’s what Tripadvisor says about Sorrento Hotels:

Please let us know if you need more information or advice about where to stay!

Getting to Sorrento

There are regular flights to Naples from Liverpool and many other UK airports. Budget airlines make it an easy and affordable flight of about 3 hours. Currently flights are priced at about £70 each way.

Naples airport is just under an hour from Sorrento, passing close to Pompei and travelling past Mount Vesuvius.

We found a great transfer company who will pick you up from arrivals and whisk you door to door in air conditioned, German manufactured, automotive comfort for about 90 Euro for up to 8 people

If you like food, you’ll LOVE Sorrento. It’s not a beach destination, more a relaxed coastal town.

Italian cafe culture at its best - perfect for sharing food and drink with friends and family.

There are some great shops, fantastic ice cream and even better people watching - don’t forget your sunglasses!

Nearby, the island of Capri is worth a hydrofoil trip which will cost about 20 Euro and take about 40 mins.

It’s stunning. Here’s what Wikipedia says about Capri.
